Frankfurt/Shanghai, February 2, 2026. Technology and electronics company AUMOVIO is supplying Chinese electric car manufacturer Leapmotor with safety technologies for Leapmotor’s B and C platforms. Several models of the B platform are equipped with AUMOVIO’s most recent long-range radar, electric parking brake and airbag control unit (ACU), while various C platform models feature the latest generation of MK C2 one box brake system, long-range radar and ACU. The project’s development time was approximately shortened by one-third compared with traditional cycles.

With more than 30 years of experience, 20 local sites, a 14 percent market revenue share in 2024 and around 10,000 employees, AUMOVIO has a strong position in China. By strengthening its local presence in production as well as research and development, AUMOVIO aims to further expand there. AUMOVIO supplies several safety technologies to Leapmotor
AUMOVIO supplies various safety technologies for several of Leapmotor’s latest C platform high-volume SUV models, such as the C10, C11 and C16. These technologies include the latest MK C2 one box brake system, which combines the master cylinder, electronic brake system and brake booster into a single compact, lightweight unit. Designed primarily for performance and sports cars, nearly 5.5 million units have been produced since 2022. It produces the implemented brake systems in Shanghai, meeting its ‘local for local’ strategy. AUMOVIO also supplies the electric parking brake (EPB) for some of Leapmotor’s B platform models.
Another AUMOVIO technology in all three of the mentioned SUV models, as well as in various additional models across Leapmotor’s B and C platforms, is the latest long-range radar. It represents a comprehensive upgrade over the previous generation in terms of performance, cost-efficiency, and compactness. With a detection range of up to 280 meters, the radar is roughly the size of two matchboxes and reflects AUMOVIO’s profound expertise, built on more than 25 years of experience in radar technology. In 2025, AUMOVIO reached a major milestone by celebrating the production of its 200 millionth radar sensors.
This premium level of safety is complemented with AUMOVIO’s latest integrated airbag control unit (ACU) and crash satellite sensors, both produced in Changchun. Both technologies are also found in Leapmotor’s B10 model, which celebrated its European market entry at IAA 2025 in Munich, and its new B05 model, which premiered at the same occasion.
