ควรวางแผนใช้รถคันดังกล่าวในระยะยาว 7-8 ปี ซึ่งถือเป็นช่วงปลอดภัย เพราะระยะการรับประกันแบตเตอรี่ ระบบขับเคลื่อน และมอเตอร์ของค่ายรถส่วนใหญ่อยู่ที่ 8 ปี หรือ 150,000-160,000 กิโลเมตร หากขายเร็วอาจจะขาดทุนจากค่าเสื่อมราคา และยังขับไม่นานพอที่จะเอาความประหยัดค่าน้ำมันมาคืนทุนค่าตัวรถ ยอมรับได้ว่าราคาขายต่ออาจตกลงเร็วกว่าปกติในช่วงปีแรก ๆ จากกลไกการแข่งขันในตลาดรถไฟฟ้า
กลุ่มรถยนต์สันดาป (ICE) และไฮบริด (Hybrid) ทางเลือกสำหรับผู้บริโภคที่ชอบความสะดวกสบาย ต้องการประเภทรถที่หลากหลายกว่า ซ่อมบำรุงง่าย และหาอะไหล่ได้ทั่วไป หรือยังมีความกังวลด้านโครงสร้างพื้นฐานการชาร์จไฟฟ้า และราคาขายต่อ ซึ่งมีให้เลือกทั้งรถยนต์เครื่องยนต์สันดาปแบบดั้งเดิม (ICE) ที่ใช้เบนซินหรือดีเซล รถยนต์เครื่องยนต์ลูกผสม (HEV) และรถยนต์ปลั๊กอินไฮบริด (PHEV) คำแนะนำคือ

* It’s advisable to plan for long-term use of the vehicle, ideally over 7-8 years. This is considered a safe period because most car manufacturers offer warranties for the battery, drivetrain, and motor for 8 years or 150,000-160,000 kilometers. Selling it too soon could result in a loss due to depreciation, and you won’t have driven it long enough for the fuel savings to recoup the initial purchase price.
* It is acceptable that resale prices may drop faster than usual in the first few years due to the competitive mechanisms in the electric vehicle market.
2. Internal combustion engine (ICE) and hybrid vehicles. For consumers who prioritize convenience, desire a wider variety of vehicle types, ease of maintenance, readily available spare parts, or are still concerned about charging infrastructure and resale value, options include traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles using gasoline or diesel, hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV). The recommendation is:
* Choose a brand with extensive service centers to ensure that future use and maintenance will have readily available spare parts at affordable prices, without incurring excessively high repair costs.
3.The used car segment is ideal for those who want to save a large sum of money and avoid high debt. It’s the most cost-effective option in terms of depreciation because the first owner has already paid for the depreciation during their initial ownership. You can choose a larger model at the price of a smaller new car. The recommendation is…
* Buy according to your budget and intended use.
* Set aside approximately 10% of the car’s price for repairs, just in case.
